Magnesium Hydroxide: MG-30

Ward Chemical produces MG-30, a proprietary blend of calcium chloride and magnesium hydroxide. Our MG-30 formulation is a magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2) slurry (10-15% concentration) in liquid calcium chloride (CaCl2) (10-15%).

Ward Chemical – Building Solid Foundations With Magnesium Hydroxide

Among other magnesium uses, MG-30 for base stabilization is effective in aggregates with a high silica content. Magnesium hydroxide acts as an added clay component by increasing the ion exchange between the clay particles. The resulting higher density produces a stronger foundation for a road surface.
